The Path to Take

"Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life." -Proverbs 4:23 NLT

Your heart is where everything begins. The thoughts of your heart eventually become the actions you take. "As he thinketh in his heart, so is he..." (Proverbs 23:7 KJV)

Guarding your heart means this: Keeping the door shut to the enemy, the flesh, and the devil. When their little agents knock on the door, don't answer it! Keep it bolted shut! If we let them in, they can -however small- eventually take over and ruin your life.

It also means giving the reins of your heart to One who can control it from running in all directions. So easily can our hearts run to the things that appeal in the moment. But God is greater and can control that! He can, when we're tempted, remind us of truth by means of His Spirit, keeping the lies of the enemy from having effect on us.


Be careful! The course of your whole life is determined by which direction your heart is pointed! Don't be hasty to give it away to any one or anything! Our heart, dear children of God, belongs only to our Father.... nobody else.

Don't be deceived! The bible says that God cannot be mocked, because the little seeds we plant will eventually grow into a harvest. If you plant little seeds of sin, you will reap a harvest of death and decay. If you plant little seeds of righteousness, you will eventually reap a harvest of abundant life and fruit that remains! (Galatians 6:7-8)

 "Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don't get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil." -Proverbs 4:25-27

 If you and I start our lives headed in the wrong direction, we will end up in the wrong place. But if we place our feet on the path that God has set before us, seeking His will in every step and seeking to please Him alone, we will end up in places we never dreamed possible!

...Our lives FULL when we give them to JESUS!

Sandie, thanks for sharing this. I think a lot of us think "Oh, it's just one little choice." But the thing is, the path starts out gradual, and before we even notice it, we are waaay off course! It's a blessing to read the insight God has given you! Be abundantly enriched by the grace of God today dear sister in the Lord! I miss you!!! <3<3<3

He gives MORE grace

Seasons of great need - how easily we shun them like the plague.   The past several weeks have been drenched in many challenges and needs for me and my family.  Need that has had me crying out to God, “how long?”  I beg him for a time limit, some light at the end of the tunnel, but when I look for it, I just see more tunnel.  What is the purpose of a season like this?  This is the question I have found myself asking God on a near daily basis.  I won’t say I’ve found out the fullness of the answer yet, but pressing the question so much has yielded some light for me.  After all, He promises that those who seek will find.  And one thing He keeps pressing into my soul is this:  My need is my opportunity to test the limits I think God has on the amount of grace He will give me.  And oh, if I could recount to you all the ways He has already poured so much grace, you would think me a spoiled daughter of the King.  But if you saw how each day, I awaken to fresh new needs that have me stumbling

Every Girl's Battle

I walked all alone down the leaf-strewn sidewalk, my hands in my pockets. A dark figure came out of the shadows and walked towards me. I could not make out who it was, but I sensed an evil about him -an evil that threatened my beautiful surroundings. And then he spoke in a forceful tone. "You had better face it. You are alone, and it will always be that way. Nobody really loves you. You just think they do. Really, though, you are alone." I tried to fight back the tears as the reality of his words sank in. Was it really true? People seemed to like me, but really, did they? It seemed true enough. I was all alone in this world. Nobody really wanted to know what I had to say or think. It was just me, and that was it. Deep in thought, I failed to notice that the dark figure had left me to think about his lies alone.
