"It's What God is that I care about."

In only a few days we will be flying down to Central America for a nine-day mission trip.  And then we will come home and life as we know it will be rapidly changing as we finish the licensure process for becoming foster parents and begin that new adventure.  Imminent change, no matter how exciting, always has me pondering, processing, thinking...  And then there has been the extra-long to-do list that I have been working on (and then adding to) every chance I get.  Yet, in the middle of this whirlwind of thoughts and to-do's, a nail-pierced hand beckons me to gaze steadily heavenward and allow my soul to rest quietly with Him. A whisper here, something someone said there, a passage from scripture, a phrase from a book... little messages rustling like a calming breeze over a troubled soul.  It's Him, inviting me into His heart -for this is where He has wanted me to come all along. //  "I don't care what God does. Mission trip update: SOS July 2015

“Wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest. The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike!” John 4:35-36 NLT It's amazing how many things we take for granted in the states; indoor kitchens, running hot water, clothes that are in good shape, cleanliness, specious homes, air conditioning... I could mention a lot more things, but I'll spare you the time!

Lessons with Jesus [on the other side of the world]

I am attempting to blog from my phone in New Zealand, so if my style seems different, that is why... :-) Wow, what a great trip so far! We are only in the third week of our trip, and yet time has just flown by! There was the long flight to Melbourne, where I sat next to a Romanian lady and conversed about the gospel, dining with several different families near the Melbourne training center, having the girls and guys Journey to the Heart at the same time in two separate locations, touring beautiful and interesting Melbourne and it's surroundings...

A trip overseas... IN [Just over] TWO WEEKS!!!

Only a couple of weeks ago, I was asked to consider going to Australia and New Zealand to help with some girls retreats over there. These retreats are called Journey to the Heart. They are ten days long and girls come to get away from everything so they can get alone with God and find out more of His heart. It is incredible the things that God does on the retreats! I've been doing them for several years, and have watched as God changed life after life.
