Weakness

Weakness resisted is power resisted, for in God’s economy, weakness is the doorway through which His power can come.

Weakness succumbed to is power missed, for weakness is not meant to be the thing we define ourselves by, but the catalyst for His life to come in and define us

Weakness is not our stopping place, but a doorway to our abiding place- Jesus Christ.

Let your weakness determine what you do, and you have stopped short of God’s purpose for that weakness.

Let your weakness push you into intimacy with Christ -the very Source of strength- and you have begun to taste its purpose.

Let your weakness remind you that others are also weak, and you have begun to see why Christ endured weakness too.

Let your weakness become a hole in your life through which His life may freely flow onto others who are also weak, and you have begun to experience His power which works best in weakness.

God purposefully puts heavier weights that we cant actually carry so that we will learn to embrace our weakness and begin to experience His power in that weakness.

But…

He cannot reveal much of Himself through a person who is still full of self-confidence.

He cannot show His limitless power through a person who still thinks that apart from Him they can do something.

Humility, brokenness, and weakness are God’s favorite places to reveal Himself…

So…

Don’t resist difficult trials, big or small.

Don’t kick against the bad day, the overwhelming moments, the undesirable circumstances.

Don’t fight the weakness and powerlessness you feel in those times of difficulty and loss.

Don’t run from the fires that God leads you into, though they feel impossible to endure.

These are the places He is making you fit to be used by Him to touch the lives of people around you in this broken world.

These are the tools He uses to make room within you for more of Himself.
