The God who Passionately Loves
"Would not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart." Psalm 44:21
It is so good to remember that God knows me... And in spite of -not because of- His intimate knowledge of Me, He loves me.
Love has to give, just due to its nature. It is self-sacrificing and gives all every time, yet it's not able to show itself without an object to lavish itself on.
What keeps us from knowing His love? Ask yourself....
....Walls of self-righteousness, thinking I deserve God's love, but feel none at all?
....Walls of bitterness toward others and God?
....Walls of pride, anger, rebellion, self-hatred, etc.?
Love is never felt when we look at someone's hands to see what they are doing. Instead, it is felt when we look into their eyes and see that they deeply mean what they say. Every word and action is now backed up with heart... This is how it is meant to be with God!
Forget finding proof of His love in what He's doing. Look instead into His face. Find out His heart, and you will find that you are passionately loved by the One who created you.

As the waves of the sea need a shore to wash over again and again, so God seeks out a heart to wash over again and again with His love.Imagine it! This is why He created us. It was not good for the Godhead to be alone. Why? Because love that has no one to give to can't truly reveal its full splendor. God desires to lavish His love on an undeserving heart, because it's there that His love's full depth and power is revealed, awe is inspired, and His heart is finally understood by a watching world.
What keeps us from knowing His love? Ask yourself....
Have I built walls on my heart's shoreline?....Walls of doubt that He could possibly love me in my present state?
....Walls of self-righteousness, thinking I deserve God's love, but feel none at all?
....Walls of bitterness toward others and God?
....Walls of pride, anger, rebellion, self-hatred, etc.?
All of these are upheld by a foundation of unbelief. Faith in God's Word is the simple key to knocking them all down.So.... instead of focusing on the "walls", we need to turn our gaze toward the One who can make them fall. Look long and hard at Him and find that in gazing at Him, unbelief turns into faith, and soon, His powerful waves of love will knock them all down.

"How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings." -Psalm 36:7
